This lake house had good bones but needed a real plan to make it feel like somewhere worth escaping to. The owners knew what they wanted - more usable space, cleaner finishes, and a look that actually matched the setting. So we walked through room by room, talked through the vision, and got to work.

New luxury vinyl plank flooring went down throughout, and it ties the whole space together. The gray-toned planks are durable and low-maintenance - both things that matter a lot in a lakeside property that sees heavy foot traffic, wet feet, and everything else that comes with that lifestyle. It looks sharp without being fussy.

Fresh interior paint on the walls made a huge difference. Crisp white throughout opens the rooms up and gives the natural wood ceiling elements - exposed beams and raw plywood - room to breathe as accent features rather than competing noise. That contrast between the clean painted walls and the raw wood above is one of those details that just works.

One room got a full cedar plank accent wall with clean trim framing, and that space went from a plain box to something with real character. That kind of wood-on-wood layering - warm cedar against the darker flooring - is the kind of thing that makes a lake house feel intentional instead of thrown together. We paid attention to the details so the owners wouldn't have to wonder if it was done right.

Every part of this job came down to one thing: making the space feel like it belongs at the lake. Good flooring, solid paint work, and the right accents go a long way toward getting there.
