This basement remodel is moving fast and we wanted to share a mid-project look at where things stand. The walls are fully painted, the bathroom is done, and the kitchen area is set - with cabinets going up next week. It's one of those stages where the space really starts clicking into place.
Painting a basement isn't the same as painting a main floor room. You've got tray ceilings, soffits, crown molding, and recessed lighting cutouts all working at the same time. Getting clean lines around all of that takes patience. We kept the floors covered throughout and worked room by room to keep everything tight.
The main living area features a stacked stone fireplace surround that anchors the whole room. The warm neutral wall color we used ties in with the white trim and the natural stone tones without competing with them. It's the kind of color decision that doesn't draw attention to itself - which is exactly the point.
The kitchen area is coming together too. Fresh paint on every wall, clean white baseboard, and the stainless appliance already in place. Cabinets are the next big step, and once those go in, the whole space is going to feel complete. We're planning to share the full reveal in the next couple of weeks.
A lot of basements sit unused because the finishing process feels overwhelming - too many moving parts, too many trades to coordinate. This is exactly the kind of project we handle start to finish. Framing, drywall, painting, cabinetry - one crew, one point of contact, and no hand-off headaches.
