Eighteen windows is a big undertaking. On a job like this, it's not just about swapping out the old units - it's about making sure every single one is set correctly, sealed properly, and finished in a way that actually looks like it belongs there. That's exactly what we were focused on throughout this one.

We went with Jeld-Wen double-hung windows across the board. These come with dual low-E glass, which is worth mentioning because it makes a real difference in how the home holds temperature. Less heat transfer through the glass means more comfort inside and less strain on the HVAC system. Good product, and it holds up.

The part that separates a clean window job from a sloppy one is the trim work. We built out custom jamb extensions on both the interior and exterior to bridge the gap between the new window frame and the existing wall depth. Then we ran casing trim all the way around each unit. It sounds like a small thing, but without it, new windows can look awkward - like they were just stuffed into a hole. The extensions and casing give everything a finished, intentional look.

This kind of work takes patience. You're fitting 18 different openings, managing wall thickness variations, keeping every piece of trim tight and square. It's not glamorous work, but it matters. A window that's installed right will seal better, operate smoothly, and last a lot longer than one that was rushed in and caulked over.

If your windows are drafty, painted shut, or just embarrassingly dated, this is the kind of work we do every day. Full replacement with the finish carpentry to match - inside and out.
